Despite carrying the national RSCPA logo, RSPCA Sheffield is a separately registered charity, meaning it’s an independent, self-funding branch of the RSPCA. Because of this they rely heavily upon the generous support of corporate investors and supporters to make a vital contribution to all the excellent work that’s achieved at their animal shelter, their veterinary clinics and their charity emporiums across the city.

SoloProtect understands the importance of supporting the local community, they have been trading in Sheffield since 2003 and in October 2015 they opened the UK’s first, and still only, lone worker dedicated Alarm Receiving Centre accredited to the strict EN 50518 European standard.

With a spate of unwarrantable attacks on RSPCA Sheffield locations recently, including a burglary at a local shop, security is paramount and Phillip Morton, fundraiser for the branch is well aware of this. “Our success relies upon a workforce of volunteers and their safety is hugely important to us. Thankfully, the most recent break-in happened overnight so nobody was hurt. However, we suffered a great deal of damage which obviously comes at an expense.”

Craig Swallow, SoloProtect Managing Director, is well aware of the importance of supporting local charities. “RSPCA Sheffield is doing a lot of great work in the community, we heard about the security issues the branch were having and felt it was something we could help with. It’s terrible that anyone would think it’s ok to steal, never mind stealing from a charity.”
