Paul’s Story: Handling a Violent Dog Fight
Paul, an animal welfare officer, activated his safety device after a violent dog fight left a man injured. The audio captured frantic barking and a male shouting commands before Paul urgently requested an ambulance and Police assistance.
The man was hurt while trying to break up a fight between multiple dogs, with both the man and the animals sustaining injuries.
Emergency services were dispatched quickly, and Paul remained on-site to assist. A short while later, he confirmed that the ambulance had arrived, and no further support was needed.

Samantha’s Story: Managing an Escalating Situation
Samantha, a support worker, activated her safety device when an intoxicated young woman became increasingly irate. The woman was shouting, swearing, and arguing with staff as they attempted to manage the situation.
The woman, who appeared to be under the influence of drugs, was demanding to leave the house but was told she could not go due to her inability to stand. Frustrated, she attempted to push past staff, becoming more agitated, stumbling into furniture and throwing ornaments around the room.
Recognising the growing risk, the Alarm Receiving Centre requested Police assistance. The situation remained volatile, with ongoing verbal abuse towards staff, though no physical violence was reported.

Jasmine’s Story: Dealing with Threats in Safeguarding Meeting
Jasmine, a support worker, activated the Red Alert during a safeguarding meeting that escalated when a male became verbally aggressive. The male refused to leave a female resident’s room, threw a picture at Jasmine, and began damaging property while making further threats.
The therapy dog was frightened and ran off, prompting Jasmine to secure it. Emergency services were requested, but Police advised they were already on-site handling the situation. The male was eventually removed, and Jasmine later confirmed her safety.
